" Wrong Number - A Beautiful Story"

It was the day of my son's XII results and I was so tensed. I sat beside him while he logged on the website with his registration no. "Ma", he screamed in excitement, "I scored 1191, with centum in 4 subjects." I can't believe it. "I kind of became numb in my excitement.. My eyes became wet. I kissed him on his forehead and smiled."

Soon we realized that he stood first in the state. Oh, my joy knew no bounds when Reporters and media persons soon swamped my house for interviews and photos. I was so honored to join him in the snaps.

I wanted to call my "wrong-number- friend" to tell him the news...... I was so excited. He was someone whom I have known for more than 20 years.

I still do not remember when we became friends, but certainly cannot forget the first day he called me When I blasted him for giving me so many wrong calls..... After that he had called up a week later asking apology, for he had now got the right no of his friend whom he wanted to talk to .We spoke for an hour that day...even without knowing each other's names. Though he kept pestering me to reveal my name I never did and so he kept a name...Sweety. I used to get so shy whenever he called me 'Sweety'. I was doing first year of BSc. Maths then, and he was a Computer Engineering student.

>From then he used to call me very often. We almost discussed everything.

By the final year of my college, we probably we were in love, but I had been cautious. I was in a dilemma whether to tell him. But what if he was of a different religion? Do I have the courage to talk to my parents about it? ........all these questions ran through my mind.

I decided I'll not talk to him thereafter. When he called next time I laid to him I that I was going to Delhi for my post graduation. He gave me his office number and asked me to ring him up once I reach there. I never called...... .

A couple of months later my marriage got fixed with a guy of my parent's choice. I was not happy but I did not complain; rather accepted it as an obedient daughter. At times I felt I missed my wrong- number- friend...... .

My hubby was a moody person; I have hardly spent any good time with him- but he was genuine indeed and never bothered my personal space. After 2 years we had a boy...Yet, I was not very happy with my married life...One day I happened to browse through my diary and found I still had my old friend's office phone no that he had given me. I dialed it and spoke with him. He said he was married and got a kid too. I was happy for him though in the bottom of the heart I felt bad that I could not marry him.

>From then I used to occasionally call him on that number. I never gave him mine as I felt that would put me in trouble... And till today I almost shared everything with him including my relationship with my hubby.....today I was so happy and I wanted to call him.

Just then I got a call. "Your husband met with an accident and died on the spot"

I banged the phone down. I broke. I did not call my friend.....I somehow started feeling guilty. I have never tried to talk to him properly when he was alive or moved close with him.... I felt I had been a bad wife........

A couple of years passed and one day my son brought home a Bengali girl and said they wanted to get married. I got them married as I did not want my son to go through what I did.

I decided to give my son his father's room and started clearing it. There was a phone book. I gently opened it to find,

"Wrong no Sweety - 26579785"!!! !!

God always puts the right numbers together. It's us who interpret it wrong!!!!!

*Thanks Anusha for sharing this*

Mobile in Water

Precautions

Get it out of the water as soon as possible. The plastic covers on cell phones are fairly tight, but water can enter the phone in a short period of time, perhaps only 20 seconds or less. So grab your phone quickly! If you can't get to it in time, your best bet is to remove the battery while it is still under water. Water helps dissipate heat from shorts that can damage the phone, so most damage occurs when the inside of the phone is merely wet and there is a power source.

Don't Panic. Your phone will probably not be too damaged if you right away take it out of the water. While it's in the water, immediately take it out.

Remove the battery. This is one of the most important steps. Don't take time to think about it; electricity and water do not mix. Cutting power to your phone is a crucial first step in saving it. Many circuits inside the phone will survive immersion in water provided they are not attached to a power source when wet.

If you have a GSM carrier, remove your SIM card. Some or all of your valuable contacts (along with other data) could be stored on your SIM. To some people this could be more worth saving than the phone itself. SIM cards survive water damage well, but some of the following steps are unnecessary i.e. don't heat it. Just pat it dry and leave it aside until you need to connect your phone to your cellular network. (This step does not apply to CDMA carriers such as Verizon, Alltel, US Cellular, Sprint, etc.)

Dry your phone. Obviously you need to remove as much of the water as soon as possible, so you can save it from getting into the phone. Shake it out without dropping it, then use a towel or paper towel (ideally trying not to clog the wet paper in the gaps and grooves of the phone) to gently remove as much of the remaining water as possible. Dry the excess moisture by hand.

Remove any covers and external connectors to open up as many gaps, slots, and crevices in the phone as possible.

Use a vacuum cleaner if possible. Do not use a hair dryer (even on a "cold" mode) to dry out the phone, as this may force moisture further into the small components, deep inside the phone. If moisture is driven deeper inside, corrosion and oxidation may result when minerals from liquids are deposited on the circuitry. Using a hairdryer might be a temporary fix, but this will eventually cause component failure inside the phone. Instead, remove all residual moisture by drawing it away with a vacuum cleaner held over the affected areas for up to 20 minutes in each accessible area. This is the fastest method and can completely dry out your phone and get it working in thirty minutes. Be careful not to hold the vacuum too close to the phone, as a vacuum can create static electricity, which is even worse.

Use a substance with a high affinity for water to help draw out moisture. Leave the phone in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice overnight. The rice would absorb any remaining moisture. If available, it is preferable to use desiccant instead.

Desiccant will absorb moisture better than rice. It may be found under a brand name such as the "BHEESTIE Bag™" "DRY-ALL" "Damp Rid" or "Dry Right".

Let the phone sit on absorbent towels, napkin, or other paper. Remember that the goal is to evacuate all the moisture and humidity, not to trap it or add even more.

Check the absorbent material every hour for 4 to 6 hours. If moisture is evident, repeat the vacuuming step and desiccant steps.

Test your phone. After you have waited a day or so, make sure everything is clean and dry looking and re-attach the battery to the phone and see if it works. If your phone does not work, try plugging it into its charger without the battery, if this works, you need a new battery. If not, try taking your cell phone to an authorized dealer. Sometimes they can fix it. Don't try to hide the fact that it has been wet. There are internal indicators that prove moisture.

Take the phone apart If your phone doesn't turn on at all. Try taking it apart. First, make sure that you have ALL the right parts and know exactly where they go. Be sure to put everything back in its proper place once finished. As you're disassembling it, pat each individual part dry with a small towel and use the vacuum cleaner once more on the crevices. If this doesn't work go to the professionals.

Warnings

Do not switch the phone on. This is important as it will prevent a charge from running from the battery to the phone which may subsequently cause the phone to short circuit.

Don't heat the battery or it could leak or explode. Lithium-ion batteries are sensitive. If you use an oven or hairdryer, make sure to remove the battery first.

If you use alcohol make sure to do so outside, and do not apply heat in any form, not even the gentle heat of a monitor. Do not hook up the battery until the alcohol smell dissipates.

Do not apply too much heat to your phone, as mentioned above. You don't want to melt or burn your phone.

Be warned that manufacturers of most modern cell phones place liquid damage indicator stickers that will change colors in the presence of a liquid inside their phones. This helps technicians know that you have dropped your phone in water, as most cell phone insurance coverage policies don't cover water damage. Chances are, if the sticker under the battery is triggered, then the internal stickers you can't access have probably been tripped as well. This will result in you paying a voided-warranty fee in the long run. You should be aware that warranties don't cover water damage, only insurance does, and even then, not all insurance companies or plans will honor water damaged phones. It is also worth noting that these liquid damage indicator stickers have been known to change colors in extreme humidity as well.

Even if all these steps are followed, minerals dissolved in the water can precipitate on solder and component pins, causing corrosion or shorting. Component pins are packed so closely together in modern cell phones that even a small encrustation can create a short, rendering the phone inoperable.

Do not put the phone (or any electronic or metal-containing object) into the microwave. You will destroy electronic components and potentially the microwave.

For the semi-mechanically inclined remove screws and as a minimum crack the case open to allow moisture to escape. Cell phones are normally somewhat water proof so they can be used in the light rain and humid environments. This means that once moisture has entered the phone it is very hard for it to dry out.

Removing your cell phone from the water quickly and IMMEDIATELY REMOVING THE BATTERY gives you the best chance of saving your phone.

If you do not want your cell phone to be damaged, keep it away as far as possible to any liquids.

Ayurveda's Approach to Obesity

| | | 0 comments
PS: ika meedata ee topic meeda posts veyyanu frnds...edo mundu chetulu kalchukunna kada anduke ee savarana..

In ayurvedic text, 'Charakacharya' has described eight 'nindya prakruties' (undesirable constitution) according to the body constitution. Among them he has also mentioned obesity. Obesity is described as 'Medoroga' in Ayurved. It is said that it is comparatively easy to help an underweight person, rather than an overweight person. The overweight problem can be due to an actual increase in the fat component (Meda Dhatu), or it can be due to malfunctioning. These, accordingly, will need different approaches. In very few cases it can be an offshoot of other metabolic disorders.

Body is made of 7- Dhatus {Rasa (Lymph), Rakta (Blood), Maans (Muscle), Meda( Fat), Asthi (Bones), Majja (Nervous System) Shukra (Reproductive System)}. But in Obese fellow Meda is excessively nourished and remaining other Dhatus get malnourished. Kapha gets accumulated in between. When Kapha increases in abnormal fashion, Fat metabolism gets hampered and person becomes Obese.

Roll of medicines with dietary correction is to remove obstructed Kapha and let all Dhatus nourish equally. It is not only the quantity of food that is important, but also the type of food one eats. It is not always necessary to go on a restricted diet, but qualitative changes and food habits can bring remarkable changes.

Treatment of Obesity

Prevention is better then cure. You must take precautions rather following treatment after increase in weight. Once you are obese it is difficult to treat yourself.

*Avoid excess eating, eating during indigestion or just after taking pervious meal.
*Avoid day sleeping; sleep in the night after one hour of your dinner.
*Do regular exercise like brisk walking (at least), running, swimming etc. avoid
sedentary and lethargic lifestyle.
*Avoid eating excess sweets. Have lowfat /skim dairy products. Avoid product like
chocolates, ice creams, cheese, paneer, sugar etc.
*Take non-vegetarian food like chicken, fishes, eggs, meats etc. in moderate
quantity. Remove fat from meat & skin from chicken.
*Try to minimise excess oil & ghee in cooking, Use a non-stick pan for cooking.
avoid hydrogenated vegetable oils, Instead of frying things try to consume roasted
things & change your cooking techniques a little. Grill or bake food instead of
frying, cook vegetables without fat by steaming and boiling.
*Use lowfat spreads and chutney on bread instead of butter and cheese.
*Don't consume excess alcoholic drinks or water on empty stomach.
*Avoid aerated drinks and excess water after meal.
*Intake of fat and carbohydrates should be restricted.

Medicinal Treatment
The Ayurvedic approach to drugs in general is quite different from what we've been used to. Herbal supplements can be of great benefit in weight control without the negative side effects of conventional drugs. With the diet therapy alone, the treatment of obesity is incomplete. Diet can avoid the further possibilities of obesity, but the fat has to be treated and the defective metabolism must be corrected, which is done by Ayurvedic medicines. These medicines improve fat metabolism in an obese individual. Once a person's metabolism is correct it is easy for him to maintain his weight.

Some useful remedies -

Use of guduchi, devadaru, musta, triphala, takrarishta (a fermented preparation of butter milk) and honey is recommended.
Powder of yava and amalaka is an excellent formulation for the same.
Shilajita alongwith the juice of Agnimatha works good.
Take honey water early in the morning.
Take powder of Vidanga, Sunthi, Yavakshara, Yava, Aamalaki and 'Loha (iron) Bhasma'.

Some generally used preparation for obesity are as follows :
Triphala Guggulu, Medohar Guggulu, Arogya Vardhini, Chandraprabha vati , Kumbhajatu.

But remember this is supplementary to dietary changes stated above. You should give up sedentary life style and gradually increase physical exercise and mental work.

Seeing the stick-thin models walking down the ramps, people have gone crazy to shed their weight at any cost. But the current lifestyle and eating habits have infused fat in human bodies. Though there are many treatments and weight loss diets available in the market, it's always better to lose weight in a natural way. Weight reduction should not be done in haste as it may cause adverse effects, leaving body weak and deprived of essential nutrients. Reducing weight without comprising on the health is the best way to keep the body vigorous. Through effective and easy weight loss diets, people can get rid off those chunks of bulging fat. Scroll down to know about some weight loss plans.

Liquid Diet
It is a diet comprising of clear or full liquids, but no solid foods. Liquid diet is often suggested in gastrointestinal illness; however, it is an effective way to lose weight. In this diet, people usually take either weight loss milk shakes available in the markets, or juices, shakes suggested by a dietician or nutritionist. The diet may include meat or vegetable broth, clear fruit juices, clear carbonated drink, milk, milkshakes, fruit nectar with pulp, smooth cooked cereals, or fruit or vegetable juice.

Food Combining Diet
Food combining diet is a diet in which certain foods are combined to ensure optimum digestion. Through this diet, the body effectively utilizes the nutrients present in the foods. This diet is based on the theory that different food groups call for different digestion times. Following the diet, digestion is helped by having foods which require approximately the same digestion time. Like proteins and starches should not be taken at the same time. However, proteins can be eaten with vegetables and starches can be combined with vegetables.

Grapefruit Diet
It is perhaps the most controversial weight loss diet plan across the world. Grapefruit diet calls for eating half a grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice with every meal. Since grapefruit has low calories, this diet significantly helps to reduce caloric intake, usually below 800 calories per day. However, extra care should be taken while following this diet as it may cause fatigue and probably not provide the essential nutrients to the body.

Sugar Busters Diet
Sugar Busters Diet is a diet plan that requires cut down of sugar from the diet, as it is based on the theory that that extra sugar causes insulin to rise, causing higher blood sugar and extra fat. Sugar Busters Diet comprises of about 30% protein, 40% fat, and 30% carbohydrates, and it lasts for 14 days. If followed in a right manner, it results in weight loss.

Cabbage Soup Diet
It is a radical weight loss diet involving consumption of low-calorie cabbage soup for seven days. Usually considered a fad diet, Cabbage soup diet is meant for short-term weight-loss. The typical diet is said to reduce 4.5 kg of weight in a week's time, however, nutritional experts claim that it is almost impossible to lose that much fat within a week. Thus, the weight lost is generally water.

Note: It is recommended to consult a dietician or nutritionist before starting any diet plan, as the plans may not suit everybody.

History Of Ice Cream

Monday, May 11, 2009

hmmm challaga challaga icecream tintu...ee story chaduvukondi.... for icecream lovers..have a look @ www.icecreampark.com

Once upon a time, hundreds of years ago, Charles I of England hosted a sumptuous state banquet for many of his friends and family. The meal, consisting of many delicacies of the day, had been simply superb but the "coup de grace" was yet to come. After much preparation, the King's French chef had concocted an apparently new dish. It was cold and resembled fresh- fallen snow but was much creamier and sweeter than any other after- dinner dessert.

The guests were delighted, as was Charles, who summoned the cook and asked him not to divulge the ice cream recipe for his frozen cream. The King wanted the delicacy to be served only at the Royal table and offered the cook 500 pounds a year to keep it that way. Sometime later, however, poor Charles fell into disfavor with his people and was beheaded in 1649. But by that time, the secret of the frozen ice cream remained a secret no more. The cook, named DeMirco, had not kept his promise

This is just one of many of the fascinating tales which surround the evolution of our country's most popular dessert, ice cream. It is likely that ice cream was not invented, but rather came to be over years of similar efforts

It is likely that ice cream was not invented, but rather it has come to be over years of similar efforts. The Roman Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar was said to have sent slaves to the mountains to bring snow and ice to the cool and freeze the fruit drinks he was so fond of. Centuries later, the Italian Marco Polo returned from his famous journey to the Far East with a good recipe for making water ices resembling modern day sherbets.

About 1926 the first commercially-successful continuous this process freezer was perfected. The continuous freezer, developed by Clarence Vogt, and later ones produced by the other manufacturers, had allowed the ice cream industry to become a mass producer of the product.

The first Canadian had started selling ice cream was Thomas Webb of Toronto, a confectioner, in the year 1850. William Neilson was produced his first commercial batch of ice cream on Gladstone Ave. in Toronto the year 1893, and his company produced ice cream at that time location for close to 100 years.

Uses of sleeping and waking up early

Reasons for sleeping and waking up early.

Evening at 9 - 11pm: is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1am:is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3am: detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state..

Early morning 3 - 5am: detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am: detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9am: absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

one of my fav ad

Am i with the right partner?

| | | 0 comments

fwd mails lo vachindhi...bagundhi anduke post chestunna...

During a seminar, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?" the author then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind replied the author. Here's the answer.

Every relationship has a cycle...In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU. Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage. At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.

People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfilment. Extramarital fulfilment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most common.. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this): The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner). Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know and apply these laws, the results are predictable. Love is therefore a "decision".. Not just a feeling.

Remember this always: God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let GO!!

While going out in sun
Always use umbrella made of sun protecting materials or cap and sunglass before going out. Use sunscreens that have SPF 15, at least half an hour before going out in sun. Try to use light full sleeve cotton garments to protect yourself from direct sunrays. May you like to adorn yourself in shirt-pant, sari or salwar, all the dresses should be cozy and have enough room for air circulation. Try wearing cool colours like white or mauve.

Cleansing program
Add a few drops of cologne or sandal oil in water before you bath. The freshness will continue the day long. Use deodorant or anti-perspirant. It lessens microbes that creates body odour at the same time its aroma suppress the small of sweat. Don't use powder. It blocks the pours of skin. As sweat could not come out of the body it hampers body's moisture balance. You may fell ill in the situation. You can use medicated powder in between fingers of foot to control perspiration.

Hair
Wash hair regularly during this sultry months with a mild shampoo. Use conditioner after shampooing. Don't use too much of hair drier it will make hair rough. Dry hair in fan after returning from work.

Face
Clean face at least 4-5 times preferably with a transparent face wash. Splash your face with cold rosewater as many times as possible. Make a pack of sandelwood paste and neem leaves to apply over pimples to get relief. Rub heat rashes with ice cube then apply sandalwood paste. Rub your face before taking bath with a piece of watermelon and see how it glows. Even after this if you suffer from heat rash, don't prick. If problem becomes complex it is better to consult your doctor.

Beauty tips for this season
Use a scrubber of methi (fenugreek) powder, sandalwood powder, and rice powder. Don't mix the powders. Before washing face take a few pinch of each variety and mix with water. Then apply over face, keep for 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. Watch how it cleanse your face. After returning from sun apply this solution. Mix two spoon of plain yogurt, few drops of lime, and a small amount of honey. Wash the solution after 10-15 minutes to minimize suntan.

*To refresh after a hectic day practice this. Add two spoon of grated mouri, 1spoon of ajwan, half spoon of camphor in a big container of boiling water. Take the vapour covering your face with a towel in closed eyes for 10 minutes. Splash ice cold water and dry up with a towel gently.

*Make a pack with a spoon of sandalwood powder, a spoon of fuller earth (multani Mitti), a spoon of neem paste and rose water. apply the pack over the pimples and keep for half an hour, then wash with cold water.

*Mix 1 spoon paste of poppy seeds, 1 spoon rice powder,1 spoon powder of masoor (lentil), half spoon of sandalwood powder, half spoon of fullers earth (multani),2 spoon of methi (fenugreek) powder with rose water. Apply all over the face and let it dry. Once dried remove by rubbing gently in an upward and outward motion. Finally wash off with cold water.

*If you have a oily skin apply a pack of sandalwood and multani mitti before going to bed. Don't prick or squeeze pimples.

*Change your life style during summer. Drink a lot of water, sometimes drop a spoonful of sugar and a pinch of salt to replenish the loss of body salt during perspiration. Drinks made of curd and lime or orange juices are also helpful. Lime juices replenish the Vitamin C in body to protect from sun damage. Make a habit of walking, swimming, or exercise at least for 30-40 minutes.

*As water level goes down in this season many water borne diseases are a common feature of summer. Boil water before drinking or drink filter water. Don't drink coloured water, uncovered fruit juices or sliced fruit. Prepare a drink of saunf and sugar candy and keep for 5-6 hours. Every time before going out or coming in from sun drink adding a few drops of limejuice. Cold drinks and ice creams can be allowed sometimes but are not actually beneficial in this season.

*Avoid oily and spicy food. Have soup, salad, fresh vegetables and fruits instead. All vegetables are easily digestible and good for health. Include seasonal fruits and apple , guava having anti-oxidants to fight the harmful UV rays. Avoid eating out.

*At home take light preparations. Include home made curd, fish, neem leaves, bitter gourd in your diet. Lentils are not easily digestible so have preparations of lighter varieties like mung and masoor. If you like meat try chicken stoo. Avoid mutton and fried foods. Eggs should not be eaten regularly.
