Its raining and the weather is also changed...we find people suffering with throat infection often in this seasons here are few home remedies for relief:

If however, throat infection persists for a long period of time, then we should get ourself checked to ensure that this is not a manifestation of a more dangerous medical illness.

The easiest way to get rid of throat infection is by ensuring that we eat simple food. Stop eating spicy or oily food since this will only aggravate our throat.

We should also stay away from cold drinks and certainly not drink cold water or ice cream. Avoid eating cold food directly from the fridge and take the time to heat it up. Smokers should cut down on smoking till infection clears up.

Gargling with warm water to which a pinch of salt has been added does help in soothing the throat. We can also use a pinch of turmeric which works wonders too. Drinking a cup of hot milk with a pinch of turmeric is another remedy that we can try. Hot water with some lemon juice and honey mixed into it is another very easy but very soothing drink that can work wonders. Ginger tea too is very effective in soothing the throat. We can use pieces from a one inch piece of fresh ginger and add this to hot water. When this boils we can strain it and then drink with some honey or sugar.

Our food should be simple and should be eaten at regular intervals. Resting is another way to ensure that body gets back to normal and should stay in bed. A hot water bottle will help get rid of the chill and keep us warm. Chamomile tea is very effective in brining down the pain and the best thing is that we can take it as often as we like during the day. Garlic is also very effective in treating problems of the throat and nose. Boil one cup of milk and add around four to five cloves of garlic to this. Boil till the milk is reduced to half and then drink this milk. Can add some sweetener if we like.

Chamomile tea is great for relaxation
Chamomile tea is used to reduce stress, promote relaxation and restful sleep, reduce inflammation and more! Chamomile was used thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, where it was honored for its great curative properties. It was first used in Europe about 1600, to help with insomnia, back pain, rheumatism, neuralgia and nervousness.

Years ago, in both Europe and the United States, chamomile tea was a common cure for “the vapors.” This malady was characterized by fainting, swooning and general anxiety, most often in women. Chamomile grows throughout the world. The blossoms are the part of the plant that is used.

Chamomile is also known as camomile. Other names for this herb include garden chamomile, low chamomile, Roman chamomile and whig plant. Chamomile is used both internally, most often taken as a tea, and externally.

Used as a tea, chamomile is known to relax smooth muscle tissue. In this way, it is useful in such things as calming a nervous stomach and relieving menstrual cramps. The tea is often used to promote relaxation and alleviate stress. External uses of chamomile include reducing inflammation of the skin, soothing hemorrhoids, and relieving toothache. The herb is also added to shampoos to brighten blond hair.

Combined with bittersweet, chamomile may be used as an ointment. In this form, it can be rubbed on the skin and used to treat bruises, callouses, corns and sprains.

Preparation
To make a cup of Chamomile tea it's important to use water that is very hot but not boiling because boiling water can destroy the therapeutic properties of the Chamomile herb. If you prefer using loose dried Chamomile add two teaspoons of it to an individual tea infuser. Add the infuser, or a teabag if you're using this instead, to your cup and pour in the heated water. Let it steep for about five minutes and then it's ready to drink. Some people prefer covering their cup while it's steeping in order to hold in even more healthful properties that may be carried away by the steam

*****
